The Tom Clancy Story
Tom Clancy the proprietor since 1996 was born in Troy N.Y. in 1957
He grew up in Ballston Spa and graduated from Ballston Spa High School in 1975.
Tom grew up in the business, his father owned Tom Clancy’s North End Tavern in Lansingburgh N.Y. for 28 years. Tom started working at his fathers business in 1973 and worked as a bartender at bars in Troy, Ballston Spa and Waterford until 1979. He went on vacation to Cocoa Beach Florida in 1979 and stayed for fifteen years. He worked at the,
Gutter Rock & Roll Lounge (It  was in a bowling alley) and as the bar manager and asst. restaurant manager for Pelican Point Restaurant. In 1982 he went to work as bar manager at the Canaveral / Cocoa Beach Pier in Cocoa Beach Fl. and started the Pier House Restaurant on the Pier in 1983. In 82, 83 and 84 Tom helped organize and run the Canaveral Pier Annual Surfing Contest, a weekend long event that draws surfers from all over the world. The contests drew over 10,000 people annually. In 1983 and 84 Tom worked with organizers with the 1st. and 2nd. Annual Brevard County Fair. The Fair was held in Cocoa Florida at the Cocoa–Expo Stadium the former spring training complex for the Houston Astro’s. He organized and managed the Beer Concession and catered the food for the Entertainment, that included, to mention a few
The Gregg Allman band, The Marshall Tucker Band, Molly Hatchet, George Jones,
Merle Haggard, Fabian and Rickey Nelson. The first event drew over 30,000 people. In 1986 Tom with partners bought a Cocoa Beach landmark Ramon’s Restaurant a celebrity and astronaut hangout, with regulars that included John Glenn and Neil Armstrong, Barbara Eden and Larry Hagman. A real estate developer eventually bought the land and the Restaurant was closed. Tom moved back to New York and to Saratoga in 1994.
In 1995 as a favor to a friend (Thanks for me asking Kate) he covered a couple of days off at the Side St. Saloon and a year later bought the business (what was I thinking)
Tom married the love of his life Elizabeth Mascio in 1995 at the Canfield Casino by Judge Lawrence J. LaBelle. They have two sons, Thomas III (Tommy) who was born in 1996 and Griffin who was born in 1997, they also have Yankee, the dog.
Tom organized and ran a charity golf for the National Kidney Foundation from 1996 - 2001 raising over fifty thousand for the foundation, he has helped coach several Saratoga Little League teams, has been active in Cub Scouts and has been the Scoutmaster of Troop 16 in Saratoga for the last five years and is currently is a Eagle Scout Service project adviser for the Twin Rivers Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Tom has been a Nondenominational Ordained Minister with the Universal Life Church Monastery since June 13, 2001
Tom possess the legal status to officiate Marriages and perform Baptisms and Blessings, as well as to officiate Funerals and burials.
